The Norns
"Every time when a child was born to a noble knight, the astrologers studied the stars in the sky to predict the destiny of that child."
In classical mythology, there are 3 daughters of the Night and the Darkness called the Fate or Norns: Birth, Life and Death are their names. The Greek called them the Moirai and their leader was Moiragetes or Fata Moiragetes. In German they are called the 'Norns'.
Who are the Norns?
They are the archetypal goddesses of fate, also called "Norns". The fate of the people who populate Middle Earth is appointed by them, and the Norns ensure that what is inevitable, also happens.
Urd is the oldest of the three and grants the human soul a tread of life at birth.
Then Werdandi, appears, the 'life', the middle sister. She connects various threads of life with each other in the course of life.
Skuld (= debt, karma) is finally the one who - when the time comes - cuts the thread of life.

The prose-Edda says about them:
There are many types of Norns;
They meet with each child that is born,
In order to determine his life.
Some belong to the family of Gods,
Others to the Elves,
Others to the Dwarfs.
In traditional folklore of European cultures the Norns also appear on the last day of a person's life, to guide him or her to another world.
"To everyone a task is assigned, from the moment he or she is born.
Our birth chart reminds us of that task and gives back small pieces of our past experiences.
It tells us in a symbolic language who we were, where we come from and what our future looks like. Finally that is why you are here, because nothing is by chance, there is a purpose behind everything, here on earth just as anywhere else.
Everyone has his song on earth, each person has a story. Do you know yours?"
